Steve Solomon’s three-time award winning show has met with rave reviews and great audience acclaim throughout the United States, overseas and becoming one of the longest-running one-man shows in Broadway history. Once again, we meet the people that we’re all too familiar with; the family members that make you remember why you left home in the first place. It’s a laugh-filled fest of everybody you know, have known, and some you’d want to forget but can’t, all brought to life on stage by the comic magic of Steve Solomon.

2nd Annual NF HOPE CONCERT

To contact us Click HERE

Jeff Leibow, who portrays “Nick Massi” in the JERSEY BOYS Las Vegas company, is producing the “2nd Annual NF Hope Concert” set to take place on Sunday, October 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Harrah’s Las Vegas. Proceeds from the concert will be donated to NF Network, a non-profit organization that serves families and individuals with neurofibromatosis, more commonly known as NF. The second rendition of the “NF Hope Concert” will include performances by some of the biggest names in Las Vegas as well as an impressive live and silent auction.

The star-studded concert will include performances by Delious Kennedy from the Grammy Award Winning Band All-4-One, Jeff Timmons from 98 Degrees, Anya Garnis and Dmitry Chaplin from ABC’s Dancing With The Stars, Gordie Brown, Clint Holmes, Chris Phillips, cast members from Jersey Boys, Absinthe, Vegas! The Show and more. Silent auction items include tickets to Celine Dion, Elton John, Donny and Marie, Jersey Boys, show memorabilia, restaurant certificates, spa certificates and much more. This year there will also be a live auction with items ranging from original artwork to all-expense-paid vacations.

The concert is inspired by Leibow’s daughter Emma, who was diagnosed with NF at the age of nine months. NF is a genetic disorder of the nervous system that results in a mutation on a gene that normally suppresses tumor growth. This allows for tumors to grow on any nerve in the body without warning. Leibow and his wife Melody conceived the idea for the concert upon the realization that they had an obligation to their family and the 100,000 people living with NF to educate more people about the disorder.

“In the last year we have found a handful of small tumors on Emma. Fortunately, they don’t seem to be slowing her down, but it reinforces why we do so much to raise awareness of NF,” says Leibow.

NF is one of the most common genetic disorders and affects more than 100,000 Americans, making it more common that cystic fibrosis, hereditary Muscular Dystrophy, Huntington’s Disease and Tay Sachs combined. Despite its commonality, the disorder struggles to get federal support every year.

“Last year’s concert was a huge success, but we have learned a lot in the last year about what the cause really needs. So, in an effort to help with advocacy and fundraising efforts, we have continued to produce events in Las Vegas under our organization, NF Hope. In the last year, NF Hope has raised over $25,000 for NF Network. It is our dream to see NF Hope become a national organization producing events all over the US. Until then, we will do everything we can with the hope that Emma and the more than 100,000 people living with NF may in their lifetime see a cure for neurofibromatosis,” says Leibow.

The “2nd Annual NF Hope Concert” will take place on Sunday, October 21 at the Main Showroom in Harrah's Las Vegas. The show begins at 1:00 p.m. Ticket prices range from $25-$75, plus tax and service charges. To purchase tickets, click HERE or call the Harrah's Box Office at (702) 369-5111.

Seeking to Become - September 2012

spirituality, personal challenge, scripture, quotes
As I begin another year of Seeking to Become segments, I am reflective and full of wonder for how this next year will look, how much I will change. Time and experiences would mould us into what we will be but I ponder on what God would have me be and desire my will to become closer in resemblance to His.

In 2 Chronicles Chapter 33 in the Old Testament, Manasseh has become full of idolatry and has led his kingdom into error until he is bound and taken captive into Babylon by the Assyrian king's men. The scriptures then state:

And when he was in affliction, he besought the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers
2 Chronicles 33:12
God hears his supplication and Manasseh is then restored to his kingdom. He cleanses it of the idols, repairs the holy altar of God, and offers up peace and thanks offerings.
While I am not a king leading my people to condemnation, I am a mother, friend, sister, daughter, and individual with faults need of strengthening. I seek restoration and repair, and in order to achieve them, I know I must seek God, humbling myself before Him. How much do I have to learn before I can overcome my afflictions? A great many things, I'm afraid. However, the humbling learning aids the growth of my understanding and I will be better prepared to face the other challenges of life as they come.
This month's challenge is to do self-introspection to see where we need to improve and seek to humble ourselves before God in whatever areas necessary that we may restore and repair where necessary in order to receive Him into our lives more fully.
I hope you will join me. Your comments are very welcomed, so please feel free to do so if impressed upon to share your thoughts or experiences throughout this month.

A visit to Mark Twain's Hannibal, Mo.

Reporting from Hannibal, Mo. — It was long after dark when Henry Sweets brought me to Hannibal's Old Baptist Cemetery, "a graveyard of the old-fashioned Western kind." No moon. Ragged weeds, crumbling gravestones. We tried to tread lightly, but it had been raining, and mud grabbed at our shoes. Down at the bottom of the hill, the Mississippi churned. I had to smile, because here I was, three decades removed from 11th grade, still slogging through American literature.

This, as Sweets explained, was the cemetery Mark Twain remembered when he imagined the midnight murder of Doc Robinson in "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer"— grave markers leaning every which way, Tom and Huck hiding behind a tree, and the treacherous Injun Joe burying a knife in his victim's chest.
